| I can answer this now that the NDA is lifted =)
Instances have a minimum level and a maximum level to which they will
scale. You can go in at any level, however, if you're out of the range
then you'll just get the easiest/hardest setting that the instance has
configured. They're also tuned to expect at least 4 players.
If you go into a dungeon wing as a solo or duo, chances are you'll be
able to do all right for a while, but you'll have a lot of trouble
with the named monsters unless you're over the upper scaling level for
the wing.
All of the above applies to the instanced dungeon wings in the
Catacombs zones and the instanced wings they're adding to all the
classic mainland dungeons. There are also "dungeon tasks" which are a
different deal, where the game makes a custom minidungeon instance for
you that's not part of a bigger dungeon. Those are tuned for solo
players although a group of any size can go in. The taskmaster may
assign you to kill quantity X of a particular monster type, kill a
specific named monster, or clear the whole dungeon, with varying
rewards depending on the difficulty of the challenge. For a duo,
having the two of you group up and each get a dungeon task then head
to the minidungeon entrance might be a good way to adventure.
The last instance type is the Dark Spire, which is a complete dungeon
zone which will be entirely instanced, containing the 'final
encounter' for the Catacombs storyline. This instance is tuned for a
full group of level 50's and does not scale.
Hope this helps.
