lol. thanks very much! The point I'm trying to make is that it's easier
to 'chuck more about' at lower resolution with lower resolution textures
etc. We can see this quite simply with the vast majority of PC games. I
personally feel that this is why some aren't being completely blown away
by the next gen consoles. A significant chunk of their power is being
used to run the game at the required 720p
I'm sure some of the effects may be challenging the 360 but it's still
going to look a little low res. When I go back to most of my x-box
games, though they may be very playable, they do look pretty ugly by
comparison. I'm not actually disagreeing with the programmer's boast but
running in a higher resolution is pretty important to me. That's why
I've bought a plasma tele, I own an HD satellite receiver and I've got
an HD-DVD on the way. I accept it's not as important to others but I can
spot the difference to the point where it irritates me.
That being said, I find 'tearing' on the 360 equally obscene. Moto GP
and Saints Row bug the hell out of me to the point where I find that the
immersion is completely killed. I'd rather they got rid of some of the
graphical effects and implemented v-sync.
