If they did that, it would take about 4 or 5 games before they went
belly up (again) and had to be part of another merger or buyout (and you
know EA would kill to own the Sonic francise).
The classic (i.e. fun) style of gaming is gone. Next gen means high dev
costs means very few companies able to take a chance. The only possible
hope for it that I see on the horizon is the Wii - but whether the
execution will be a success is anyone's guess.
From what I've seen, it looks like, just as in the past, the system
will have to rely mostly on Nintendo to make proper use of that controller.
Stuff like Sonic and Monkey Ball look to me like they would be much
better off using a standard controller.
Why even make a Wii game if you could play it (and probably play it
better) with a standard controller? That's what the PS3 and 360 are for.
