I don't think I have ever read a single Sega press statement or
advertisement that indicated they ever intended to control a "niche".
In retrospect, I don't think their fervor for mass market penetration is
well advised. Sega's true talent is in replayability and action
combined, and that is undeniably a niche which will never penetrate the
mass market. I wish they would realize this, and schedule their
releases around it, so I could play truly great games again.
