Hi to all,
I have MCE 2005 and XBOX 360.
I have connected through the Ethernet cable the PC to XBOX 360.
I don't have router or hub or modem, I have made a connection directly
between my network card of the PC to the XBOX 360, but they don't seen
itself.
I have tried through automatic and manual configuration, but nothing,
they don't looked at.
I must have a router/hub/modem or I'm an incapable ?

Help me,
thanks from Alessandro

Did you connect using a standard cable or a cross over cable? I would
presume that if you are connecting to devices together without using a
switch, you need a cross over cable.

I bought today a cross over cable, but XBOX 360 doesn't connect to my
MCE, but my MCE PC with Windows Media Connect see my XBOX.
I set automatic IP but nothing, so I set XBOX 192.168.1.1 and the PC
192.168.1.2, but nothing.

I'm stupid ?

What anti virus software are you running on the PC? If there's anything
Norton (Symantec), McAfee or PCcillin on your computer, temporarily
uninstall (YES, uninstall) it, restart the computer and start the setup
fresh again.

The Xbox 360 is auto-sensing on the connection, and a regular RJ-45 Ethernet
cable is sufficient. No need to purchase a cross-over cable.

Go back to my original post in this thread. What anti virus software or
third-party firewall are you running? If the PC cannot be seen, something
is blocking it and that is usually software.

Hi,
thank's for the post.
I'm using AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic and the Windows firewall.

And what have you done in this regard? Have you tried temporarily
uninstalling the AntiVir, restarting your computer, and then starting the
setup again fresh? If you're receiving an error message like "invalid
connection" during the setup with Windows Firewall running, try following
this Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/911739/en-us If the KB article isn't what
you're seeing, do not make any changes in Windows Firewall.

Hi to all,
after more testing I understood the reason.
I use nLite to slipstream my MCE 2005 DVD, so I decided to integrate
Windows Media Connect and Frameworks 1.1 with his Service Pack.
XboxMCEFULL-ITA.exe don't complete the installation for this reason.
It need to allow your route....check, install Frameworks 1.1 with his SP
1, Windows Media Connect and Windows Media Extender.
If some programs are pre-installed, stupidly, it doesn't complete the
installation and don't connect the PC to the XBOX.
