| With PS3 being released in November, could we soon hear a release date on
Halo3? November perhaps.....
They may say they want to release it only when it is ready but a billionair
company wouldn't release a product on that theory. They would release it
against a rivals product....
Besides, they have been working on H3 for years now, of course it will be
ready by the end of this year! Will just happen to be in November...........

| I think this is a very good point. I really REALLY do expect to see Halo 3
release the same day as the PS3. I know good old Billy has said that it
won't but you just know he will.

IMHO, Microsoft would be stupid to wait another 9 months to release
Halo3. Does anyone really think the release of Halo3 is going to somehow
do anything to the PS3 launch? People who want a PS3 aren't going to care
about Halo3. People who want Halo3 and already have a 360, proabably
aren't going to care about the PS3. People who want both will have
pre-ordered both. No big deal.
If the game's ready, release it in June and drop the price of both 360
systems by $50.
Then, when the PS3 debuts in November, drop the 360s' prices by another
$50.
The only way Microsoft is going to have a chance is by selling as many
systems *NOW*, when there's no competition.

| true, but perhaps the game is not ready but will be sometime late this year.
I still think it will be released in November even if it is finished months
earlier.
You quoted - "The only way Microsoft is going to have a chance is by selling

So what happens in November when the PS3 is launch and xbox has nothing
'new' on this date, Sony then has no competition and will dominate. Halo3 is
the answer......

| -Sorry.-
When the amouncement date of PS3 was released, Adam Sessler made a comment
on "Attack Of The Show" that in his opinion Halo 3 would not be released
with the release of PS3 but would be next year with the release of the Halo
movie. If that does happen it gives Bungie a lot of time to work on the
game. I don't know if the game is finished.

There will continually be new games released for the 360.
Right now, Halo3 stands to be a big system seller.
However, not even Halo3 is going to prevent people from buying a PS3.
If Halo3 and the PS3 were released together, I guarantee that Halo3 will
be buried due to all the press and hype about the PS3. Even the game
sites aren't going to be doing much but blathering about the PS3. And you
can bet the PS3 is going to be in very short supply. Microsoft has a
chance to really make this Christmas their big break - but they have to
have a continuous supply of games to do so.
That's why I think Microsoft needs to release Halo3 *NOW* - or at least
before the PS3 comes out. That way, Halo3 will have the media's attention
all to its self. This would also drive more people to buy a 360 sooner
rather than later - which will also mean more potential game sales for
Microsoft.
When the PS3 comes out, Microsoft only need have another wave of decent
games available to further entice customers.
Of course this assumes that Halo3 is a good game. A good game will get a
lot of good press, and would make Halo3 a much needed system seller. If
the game is bad, then Microsoft should release it close to the PS3. Yeah,
it'll get buried by all the PS3 press - but that also means that reviewers
will be more distracted, and any bad reviews will mainly get buried by the
PS3 coverage. People, meanwhile, will buy the game based on the name
alone - much like how people got suckered into buying 'Enter The Matrix'.
By the time the turth comes out, it'll be too late. Halo3's spot as a
Platinum Hit (or whatever the bargin line for the 360 will be called) will
be assured.
Personally, I think the game will be "OK" but will still get 9/10's from
most reviewers simply because they won't have the time to play much beyond
the initial title screen and opening movies.
