Hi Billy Bob,

Has your console always experienced this problem? Do you see the "ring of
light" around the power button flashing red or green prior to the unit
shutting itself off? Do you have the "auto-off" setting turned on? Here's a
Microsoft Knowledge Based article referring to "Console Automatically Turns
Off" which may help troubleshoot the problem:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/907587/en-us

If this KB doesn't help, contact Xbox Technical Support. You may have a
defective box.

¿Era necesario escribir a todos los grupos en todos los idiomas? A ver
si entiende.... compruebe que no esté recalentándose y que el anillo LED
no esté en amarillo o rojo. Además pruebe a desactivar la opción de
apagado automático en el menú de opciones.

English translation :

Is it necessary to write to all of the groups in all the languages? Check that it is not overheating and if the LED ring is in the red or yellow. Under menu options disable the auto-off setting.

(Please rephrase if my intepretation is inaccurate. Thanks!)

Thank you for your help but I checked all that stuff. do you know any other
method?

Did you check to make sure your power cord is hooked up properly and all
connections are secure? Your system could be overheating, forcing it to
shut itself down. Have you tried unplugging the box, disconnecting all
cables, and then reconnecting/replugging in ? Does the same thing happen?

Probably the best thing to do is call Xbox Tech Support about your issue:

Dear Jennifer,
Thank you. it now works.
I am very grateful the power chord was plugged in all the way. i took it to
an xbox repair shop and found out that the electrical flow was gone. i
bought a new power chord.
billy using a different name/account but same email.

If this was an original Xbox and the power cord was defective, Microsoft did
a replacement program on them a while back:
