XBOX 360 doesn't do true HDTV it only does 720p not the 1080i or 1080p --
the actual frame buffer is 1280 x 720 so that is all the resolution you get.
It will provide 1080i output but that is just upconverted image from 720p
(just as my DVD player upconverts 480 to 1080i via HDMI) -- it is still a
480p DVD.

So, the future I hope holds true 1080p resolution (or better) and it will
not be in the XBOX 360.

Don't get me wrong, XBOX 360 is a great toy at $400 and is easy enough for
those intimidated with PCs to actually use it (even though XBOX 360 is
technically a PC). But I wouldn't consider it worthy of "World of Tomorrow"
by any means - not even close.

If you wanna see what is gonna be on the world of tomorrow, you need to look
at the PC as that is what all the developers of XBOX 360 software use to
produce their next gen games on the lastest hardware. XBOX 360 remains
unchanged for it's 3 year cycle while PC's continue to grow thru-out this 3
year period.

Did I say the Xbox 360 did true HDTV anywhere in my post? No. Do I give a
shit? No. Is it good enough for me to enjoy? Yup.

Obviously, in due course, 1080p will be the norm. I preume it will get
better than that too, when people at home have 200" screens.

Badass.
