Hi all,

I have the Xbox 360 and am using it as a Media Center Extender. Works
beautifully, other than a problem with the remote.

I have the silver illuminated universal Microsoft Media Center remote, which
the 360 does support, however when I press commands, about 40% of the time
they are received twice by the 360.

E.g. I press OK to flick between channels 101 to 102, and instead of
changing once to 102, it changes to 102, then again back to 101! Same
problem all over the menus, e.g. I'm accidentally confirming Series
conflicts when I don't want to etc.

Can't be an issue with the remote AFAIK as it works fine with my other
Linksys extender.

I have set the 360 to respond to all remote codes.

Any ideas? I seem to remember at least one other similar post from a user
about this same issue.

Thanks.

Have you got decent batteries in your remote ?
When mine started getting low I got similar problems.

Yes, they were the first thing I tried.

However, I took a different remote into that room and played with it, and
ever since then the original remote that had the problem has no longer had
it! Bizarre but it must have tripped something in the Xbox and sorted it
out!
