Xbox DVD Movie w/game?

| Hello
I have a regular Xbox, not a 360, with the dvd add on. I have a problem
where when i put in a DVD Movie that also happens to have xbox game content
on it, it always loads the game. There appears to be no way to watch the
movie.
For example, we rented "Doom" the movie, but when we put it in the xbox it
loads a xbox doom 3 preview game and we cant watch the movie.
Is there a way around this so i can tell it to play the dvd movie?

Choose "play movie" from the menu (with the controller).
It'll sorta reboot itself into dvd-playing mode.

You do have the Xbox DVD movie playback kit right?
