What I want to see from X-Box Live, X-Box 360, and Portable
|
|
|
| Please feel free to add, and hopefully Microsoft will catch on.
1) 360-The rest of the Backwards Compatability
2) 360-Downloads for HDTV Movies(Bye, Bye Blockbuster)
3) XBox Portable(Features need would kill PS3 and PSP)
-that can play XBox1 or 360 Games(No additional Media type)
-Can Play Movies from XBox
-WiFi XBox Live Portable
-Must be able to play my music from MCE
-Must be able to play my TV shows from MCE
-Be able to perform slingbox type functions w/MCE (Must compete w/ sony
PSP product)
4) 360-1080p compatability
5) More 1080 Games? (Most still 720p)
6) A wireless headset that can be used with Live that also includes audio in
stereo (also for portable)

| I'll agree with option 1 .. everything else is mute since there are no plans
for a portable. That would mean Microsoft would have to compete with
Nintendo & Sony. Since Nintendo has a lock on the market, it would be
extremely tough to crack that market. People always refer to Nintendo as
coming in third, but in actuality I see them being a companion to owning one
of the other consoles.
Option 2 -- would be nice, but I don't think that there is a market for
this. HD movies would be huge, and what about people who have caps on their
bandwidth. Aside from that I purchase most of my moves ala used.

| Hi Nick, The portable rumor is actually a reality and admitted by MS now.
Check the main game pages, it was in the news last week. Still no design
yet, but they have committed a research team now. I think MS needs to do
this to compete w/ Sony, Apple and Nintendo.

| Basically we already have the equivilent of a portable XBOX360: We
call them laptop computers, and although they don't play the 360
format, the PC versions of games are always superior to console
versions. Now if you can get all that under $1000...

| Hummm What strange world to you live in WilleD.
I have yet to find a laptop with 3 processors in it. Coupled with a high end
graphics adapter such as the one in the 360. Also you say PC games are
always superior?!?! Like what. For example. My mate has a really high end
gaming computer. I can turn on my 360 put call of duty 2 in the drive and be
playing the game within about 25 secs. In the same time my mates pc hasnt
even finished verifying all the memory he has (4Gb). I have yet to see a pc
run call of duty 2 as flawlessly as an xbox360 period. Even a high end pc
will sometimes stutter mid game.
