How? the 360 doesn't have a browser.

You cannot "browse the Internet" with an Xbox 360, since there's no built-in
browser. Some limited "browsing" can be done - on fixed sites - using the
Xbox 360 as an extender to a Media Center Edition (not just Windows Media
Connect) PC and an add-on application within MCE.

Then how does the 360 use the Internet for
games/communication?

later....

Via TCP/IP like anything else. What does a browser have to do with
anything?

The 360 connects to Microsoft's Xbox Live! servers - and only their servers.
While this is "on the internet", it's not via a web browser, so you can't go
surfing Yahoo with your 360...at least...not right now... maybe Microsoft
will release a web browser for the 360 later on.

You simply need to configure your 360 to connect to your network as if it
were another PC. After that, it'll do the rest and guide you through
creating your GamerTag for use on the Live service.

Live Silver is free and allows you to do everything but play online. This
includes downloading any updates for your 360 console (like the 1080p
enhancement you asked about elsewhere), as well as demos, other games
(some require a fee), etc. If you want to play against other people
online then you'll need to get Live Gold, which is currentally $50/year.

It uses the ethernet port to communicate with Xbox live. It has no browser.
