Hi xBox'er,

I have a 360 and want to connect is to xbox live. I do have a problem connecting devices using normal ethernet, wlan is fine. So I thought could connect my xbox using a patch cable to my pc and the to the internet. All works fine except the mtu test.

I've set up a MTU of 1492 and inet works fine using wlan on my pc.

Is it possible to connect the xbox this way using a pc with patch cable.

I have to say: connecting the xbox to my router using a normal cable worked (my lan ports are not working now...).

Thank you,
Regards,
Nico

it should work ok,although might be laggy..

fortunately the xbox 360 has autosensing ports so will work with patch and cross over cables...

yes using a wired lan connection from your 360 to a pc, or laptop will work.
but i wouldnt use a crossover cable for that. i would use a regular patch
cable for that. also make sure you have enough bandwidth, like cable or dsl.
the mtu failing seems odd. make sure the router had a good mtu setting. try
connecting the 360 just to the router to run the test. if thats okay, and the
pc/laptop settings are okay, then the cable maybe bad.
