Sound cuts out 360 halo 2
|
|
|
| During heavy fighting scenes in h2 my Sony receiver cuts out. This never
happened on my old Xbox only on the new 360. So far I only noticed it
playing halo 2 but that's the game I play the most.
I have the Sony surround sound receiver hooked up using the digital optical
line. Had this same cable hooked up on the old xobx that worked without
problems. After it cuts out a couple seconds later the sound will start up
again.
Anyone know what might cause this?

Could it be a backwards compatibility issue? Try a 360 game.

| The only other game I have right now is Ghost Recon and I can't see to
reproduce it with that. I looked on the backwards compatibility notes for
HALO 2 and did not see anything related to the sound.

| I have had this problem with Halo 2 Backward Compatibility. It was very bad
at the beginning, but after updates has become much less, but it is still
existant. I have wrote the Microsoft Backwards Compatibility team time
after time asking for this to get resolved, but i never hear a response, and
after new backward compatability updates the problem still persists. I
think its a problem with the Emulation. Sort of pathetic that Microsoft
cant get there flagship Xbox 1 title "Halo 2" properly working on the 360,
and it seems as they have stopped working on it, as the last couple of
updates have had no fix for this issue. There is also still ghosting, and
Backwash still has horrible performance. We arent the only one's with this
issue, i have spoken with MANY people who have experienced the same problem.
I wish Microsoft would at least confirm it as being an issue, instead of
pretending the problem doesnt exist. Speaking of this, i think i'm goign to
send this thread to the Backwards Compatibility team. :-D
