I was just playing with my friend on Xbox Live and we were wondering how
often we don't actually know when some friend is actually online and
playing. I figured out it would be very nice if I could link my Xbox Live
account with my MSN Messenger / .NET Password account.

Think about all the possibilities. You could send invitations to your
friends' messangers and chat with them, and vice versa. Or then you could
send email or SMS messages to your friends' mobile phones to invite them to
play with you.

I don't understand why Microsoft still hasn't integrated these at all, even
though benefits would be quite obvious.

Do you know if Xbox 360 and "Xbox Live 2.0" will bring any enhancements to
messaging features and options?
