| Small problem. My xbox refuses to start up. Whenever I insert a disc or
power up my xbox the green light blinks for a few seconds then turns red. No
disc read errors on the screen or anything. The screen stays black.
Any ideas?

It should have something about that in the manual. Otherwise, use
google or microsoft to find what the means.

Is the red light blinking or solid?
From http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/leds.php:
GREEN for half a sec then RED Flashing:
Bad/Corrupted or Empty Eeprom.
SOLID RED:
System overheated , hardware failure , ...

That happened to mine once, All I did was re-insert the video cable as after
I had moved my X-Box the video plug had come out far enough to not be
completely plugged in and gave that result.
It also happened when I tried using Linux on mine in HD mode as it wouldn't
support that output so I had to connect the SVHS cable to get it to work but
the result was slightly different, it would flash the light and the fan
would get going real fast then the whole system would shut down.
