| Will the 360 only have wireless controllers or will it also support wired
controllers?
What about backward compatibility - will it play original xbox 1 games?

The Xbox 360 will support wired controllers.

I really hope there is a way to use the Duke with the 360.
As far as BC is concerned, after E3 hopefully we'll find out.

"Pre-E3 2005: Backwards to the Future?
Microsoft's system may be backward compatible.
by Douglass C. Perry
May 13, 2005 - In amongst the enormous amount of information revealed
yesterday on TV, the Web, and just about every other electronic medium
concerning Microsoft's Xbox 360, the Redmond, Wa-based console manufacturer
provided information of a different kind. No, we're not talking about the
ourcolony.net demo -- which was very cool -- and no, we're not talking about
the, shall we say, "interesting" MTV special. We're talking about what the
company didn't say about backward compatibility.
At the heart of the discussion is whether Microsoft will try to incorporate
backward compatibility from its new Xbox 360 to the current Xbox 1. In doing
so, it would theoretically grant nearly 20 million Xbox users with the
ability to play Xbox 1 games on its next-generation console. Still, since
Microsoft hasn't said anything about the subject, the level of speculation
and guessing has reached a new high. From all the information we've gathered,
including talks with Microsoft, the company has yet to determine how exactly
it will incorporate backward compatibility, but it desperately wants to.
What gives some credence to the theory of Microsoft supporting backward
compatibility is the images that were shown in its Xbox Live demos. Using
images of Halo 2 and Crimson Skies, Microsoft's Xbox Live blades showed off
sections called zones, one of which showed Halo 2. The demos we witnessed at
Microsoft were with Xbox 1 games, specifically Crimson Skies, but the rig was
specifically set up just as demo to show what could be done. Still, that the
system could play an Xbox 1 game on it suggests at least the test units are
backward compatible. Secondly, there has been an enormous amount of images
showing Xbox games. Why Xbox games? Is that just to prevent us from seeing
Xbox 360 games?
That Microsoft didn't announce any details about backward compatibility
suggests the company is trying figure out a way to enable playable Xbox games
on the new system, without having to pay license fees to certain technology
partners from its first system. Can Microsoft emulate the Xbox on Xbox 360?
Can it do some tricky add-on thingy? These are all possibilities, and as with
all of the rumors that became true over the last four months, we suspect this
one will indeed become true before too long."

My guess - due to the problem of licensing and implementing the nVidia
code used on the XBox, the Xbox360 will NOT be backwards compatible. If
it is, why be tight lipped about it?
Backwards compatible = huge added-value
NOT Backwards compatible = huge mistake
So, dilemma.... solved! The reason the Xbox360 is such a god-awful
<concave> shape is so that it can SIT ON TOP of your existing <convex> Xbox.
Think about it; you know it makes sense. Oh, and just what I need -
ANOTHER box to shoehorn in amongst the rest of the A/V gear.
What a mess, Microsoft.
