does this mean that if you dont buy the gold version that you will not
be able to play your games online with people. If that is true then
there really is no pint in have free xbox live

The only point would be to be able to download contents for offline play, or
to chat with others online, to avoid long distant call charges.

Remember, nothing it set in stone until the Announcement from Microsoft.
