| For Xbox2.
I play strategy games, mostly. But a good shoot um up from WWII is
played occasionally. I have to face another upgrade of my computer
and was wondering if Xbox2 will have the software that I use? I'm
95% not interested in FPS types of games.

| You may want to take a look at the games catalog to see if something suits
your taste: http://www.xbox.com/en-us/games/catalog

Thanks. I see only 1-2 titles I would be intersted in - both
shooters. No stratergy games. I guess the computer gets the money
(again).

| Guess that's why there are choices? 8-) I know the feeling.

| Yeah, I know.
But just out of curiosity. MS wants to take over the world. That's
OK with me. Why are no strategy games ever made for the consoles?
And I mean mostly good single player, not multi-player. None of the
consoles have them, it's all FPS games for the 10 y/o crowd. I
certainly would want to sell the only box in town that has
strategy.
Thanks, Bob

| Probably because they don't sell, Bob. The "simple" games went bye-bye with
Atari's 2600, I think. 8-) But, for a company you say (they haven't) want
to take over the world, you'd think they could be smarter with decisions.
Like giving users choices. The placement of the built-in games, like
Hearts, on Internet-only instead of playable on a LAN, was plain dumb.

Chances are, then, that XBox2 isn't for you. Most of the announced games
for Xbox2 have been sequels to existing Xbox games. So if the Xbox
version of "more of the same" appeals to you, then you're in luck.
Otherwise, well, let's just say it's always a good idea to wait for a few
good games to appear before buying any console...
Xbox2 is rumored to cost $400 at launch. $400 will buy you about half of
a nice, new system, or an outrageously over-powered and over-priced video
card. Either way, I'd stick with PC gaming given your tastes.

your definition of a nice, new system astounds me.
