Forza Motorsport:

Might want to also check the xbox.gamespy.com reviews of it. They've
interviewed some of the developers and have some really neat information. I
saw it on a three-screen setup at CES in Las Vegas in January, and it
totally is awesome.

I think Forza is the right answer,but...I'm just wondering. For some reason
PS2 people seem to think that GT4 has the most awesome gfx ever etc etc.
After playing the game for a few hours with a friend's PS2...I can't really
see why. The backgrounds are just big textures with a picture. So insteadt
of making a scenery out of polygons it's just like a big screen in the
distance.

Saying that that's good looking and "real" looking is a bit like comparison
between theater and a movie set - in theater the background can be just a
picture of a scenery or city or what ever. Do people really think that's
better than a real movie set?

Also the cars in GT4 have only around 5000 polygons (compared to PGR2 and
Froza which have around 15000), and even those are pre-lit so there's no
real-time shadows, self shadowing etc. Also the shadows in GT4 have nothing
to do with the light source (=sun). A tree might have shadows in one
direction, the cars in another and the railings on third.

And my favorites - invisible walls, ropes and cones that stop a 2 ton car
going 200km/h like a brick wall! And naturally this brick wall has no effect
on the pre-lit car (so it must be a super car).

Sorry, I just don't get it. Most over rated series in the history of games?
Propably. Ok, but in no way "great" or even "good".

Even the old beta / demo -version of Forza beats GT4 down with tires tied
behind the back....

ps. I guess my friend agrees 'cause he sold the game today and is waiting
for Forza also.

Forza is pretty awesome. What I saw being run was Laguna Seca, which is
also in previous GT offerings. There was really no comparison to Forza's
graphics. None.
