I am having trouble connecting to a router via a 40 meter cable, the box
says their is no cable connected when their is. I have tested the cable
and all the 4 four lights on the tester are green.
Can somebody please help me?

Are you using a Crossover cable or straight through cable, some routers are
fussy and require one or the other, as a rule
if your going from a router to an Xbox then its a straight through, if your
going from a Cable Modem to a router then its a Crossover you need,
but not always as some routers sense the conection type and adjust
accordingly.
