One might say that adding yet another first-person shooter to the Xbox
lineup isn’t anything to get too excited over since the Xbox is heavily
saturated with games of the genre, but when we are talking about id
Software’s upcoming Doom 3, it’s near impossible not to take notice.
Coming from a company that revolutionized and pioneered the first-person
shooter genre, Doom 3 has already made its impression on the PC world as
Xbox owners have patiently waited (and waited) for its debut on the
Xbox. We had a chance to join a select group of gaming editors from
around the country for some quality time with id Software and we can
assure all that Doom 3 is one hell of a game. Doom 3 is easily the best
game of the series with major technical advancements, but how well does
it stand up against the rest of today’s next-gen shooters?
