Xbox 360 Shortage?

| I've been hearing rumours that there may be problems with the number of 360's
available to market, and that even pre-ordering now may not get you one until
next year.
Is this the case?
If so, MS has made a pretty substantial production screwup. If they don't
have machines available on launch day, or conversely for the holiday spending
spree - they've missed out on a major chance to establish themselves as the
console of choice.
One thing - if this does turn out to be true, and I have to wait until next
year to get a 360 - I will be extending my wait until the release of the PS3
to do a side be side comparison.

consider to preorder one if you want to be sure.
