Have MCE 2005, and media center extender for xbox. The only way the xbox
can connect to the PC is if i disable panda firewall, as i like to leave the
PC on 24/7 recording tv shows etc I really can't select this as a permenant
solution, its also in a seperate room from the TV/Xbox so a bit out of the
way to disable the firewall everytime i want to watch something in the
living room. Any solutions or ideas?

Chances are the Media Centre connects to your PC on a specific port.
Find out what that port number is, and set your firewall/router to allow
incoming and outgoing traffic on just that port. Then your firewall will
remain up and almost completely effective.
Good luck!
