Hi there, when did the old forums from Microsoft titles vanish .. like
Project Gotham and Mech Assualt? It makes sense to get ride of them (aside
from the Halo one of course) but I was just wondering when they were nuked?

Someone at Microsoft decided to eliminate them, I guess. There's still the
web-based Xbox forums for those titles, though. 8-(

In the last half of December. Traffic in those groups was non-existant and
the Xbox team wants the forums at xbox.com to be the official Microsoft
support forums. However, as these remaining groups are well trafficed, we
will not remove them.

Ok that makes sense. Hopefully the newsgroups won't disappear either though.
I don't like using the forums since they aren't downloadable - tried trusted
and true UUNET

Not to mention the wonderful capability of self-moderation on usenet,
something forums have not put to use, although it would be simple to
implement.
