| I have an Xbox connected to the Linksys WGA-54G wireless gaming adapter,
which is Xbox certified. My goal is to run Media Center Extender for Xbox
which I have purchased, so I can stream Live TV etc. to my Xbox from my PC.
My PC is connected directly to the Linksys WAP-54G wireless access point
('AP'). The access point is configured to broadcast my SSID with WEP
encryption, and the Xbox successfully connects in Ad-hoc mode (but not
infrastructure strangely) to the AP's transmission.
So, Xbox locked into my wireless network, no trouble. Cool...
BUT, the Xbox can't see my PC, and vice versa. My PC is WinXP SP2 (Media
Center Edition 2005) and my Ethernet connection is configured to IP and DNS
automatically - all as default. The Ethernet cable goes out the PC and into
the AP.
Using exactly those settings, the Windows Media Center Extender (Linksys)
was able to connect to my PC and play back media fine. The Xbox can't.
Now I suspect the problem is either with my wireless gaming adapter ('WGA'),
or in the Xbox settings themselves, so I haven't tinkered with the PC or AP
settings.
Can anyone offer guidance? The WGA seems to connect just fine to my AP and
the Xbox, so even more likely is all those settings in the Xbox Network
Settings menu itself (from the standard MS Dashboard). Where am I going
wrong? I've tried them on automatic but it just tells me it can't find a
DHCP etc.

Thanks.
