Author topic of the week... um halo 2 question...

I just got mine about 3 or 4 days ago (collectors) and finished it for the
first time about an hour ago. I am playing it like I did halo 1, started on
easy and then I am now on normal, then I will play heroic and then legendary
(all levels at the easiest difficulty before playing the next).

is there any official word on what, or if anything will become an available
download on live?

did anyone else see the problem on the first couple of cut scenes where
characters just popped in after the scene had already started? or frame
skipping? even one where I had no sound but there were subtitles popping up?

anyone?

does it matter that I have a first shipment/launch model Xbox? I saw
someone mention that the old Xboxes can't even play some new games.

Yes most people noticed the graphical glitches. I guess after three years
of development a piss weak plot and inexcusable grpahical glitches are ok by
Microsoft and Bungie. I have a late XBOX and the problems exist.

I didn't notice any problems with frame skipping or sound in any part of
Halo 2.
I *do* have the latest version of Xbox, though.

I have na originall XBox and haven't seen the issue at all. There has been
an update released already through XBox live that is supposed to fix the
live connect speed and some clipping with high definition games. One of the
sound issues happens when you are out in space though -- the sounds are
muted on purpose.
As far as Xboxes not being able to play the new games -- that's the beauty
of the console. The architecture doesn't change, so all games will play no
matter what. There have been reports about some modded xboxes not being able
to play Halo II -- but I couldn't care about that.

The only official thing is they'll be no single player campaign for
download.

Yes that's because Halo 2 rather then having load times, loads the data in
as it needs to, hence the slight delay sometimes.

gotcha, gotcha, gotcha, and thank you, thank you, and thank you...

I am only using the advanced AV pack (S-Video and optical cable for sound)
not HD... but I'll tell you the optical cable made more than a world of
difference to the sound. (through my receiver) when it activates the AC3
coding (I think that's what its doing) There is at least a 300%
difference/improvement in the sound quality vs. when it does not (the bonus
disc does not, and the change does not happen until after the game loads,
not during the dashboard area. So it does not affect the music stored on my
Xbox.)

but 3 years to make a character do a simple 180 turn and walk the other way
is simply NOT ENOUGH TIME, hence the 40 point stutter it does.

I would actually be pretty embarrased about it. Thats an amature mistake!
