No online modes so who cares?
Namco is behind the times (maybe they should make games exclusivey for
Nintendo :-) ).
They have yet to release an online game.

I'm curious, do you jerk off when Xbox Live is connected?

Gees, if you think games without online play suck then you're one sad gamer.

Why play against an AI when you can play against anyone in the world?
You're one sad gamer if you're to afraid to face competition you can't put
on easy.

nintendo are behind the times for having a games console that does not support
much in the way of online gaming. sure. however online gaming is not a
prerequisite of any good games developer.

nintendo is behind the times in general, not just because they don't support
online gaming.
Do you realize if you add up all the games that were released for the N64
and GameCube that it wont equal the amount of games released for just the
PS2 and possibly even the XBox? Their BS quality vs quantity horseshit they
stated when the N64 was releaded, is just that, horseshit. They are 3rd
rung in an area they once dominated and they are on the brink of extinction
in the console market. How is it that 2 companies left them in the dust with
their 1st generation console systems? Because they live in the past. Hey
let's release another shinny new Nintendo system in 2006. I know just what
games we can make for it (Mario, F-Zero, Wave Race, Zelda, Kirby and
Pokemon! YAY!).

Like a fool I bought into their last 2 systems and both of them became dust
collectors shortly after they were released.
That is what I mean when I say Nintendo is behind the times.

I'm curious, do you jerk off to every exclusive (kiddy) game is released by
Nintendo?
Online gaming is here and companies like Nintendo and Namco are being left
in the dust.
Capcom, SNK, Midway, EA, THQ and Tecmo have no problems releasing fighting
games (or any game for that matter) with online capabilities. Why can't
Namco?

Oh I know, the PS2's hardware is too limited.
At least this is what Namco has claimed in an interview as to why Tekken 5
wont be online.
What's going to be their excuse with the XBox?

I never said that Todd <--- Nintendo's biggest and lamest lil fanboy.
If given the choice between a half dozen great fighters with online
capabilities (where you can play anyone in the world) vs 1 without (where
all you have is the CPU AI and friends that can take the time to come over
once in a while, us adults actually have lives Toddoboy), I will take the
online game every single time.

does this mean you would rather own a console with a massive wealth of mediocre
games than own a console with a few high quality games?

i agree here. nintendo need to get their act together and market their games
towards the main body of the video games playing public of today (teens and
20-somethings), instead of the video games playing public of 15 years ago (6-14
y/o's).

i hope that nintendo realizes the severity of its situation and does not make
these mistakes again. i dont want to see the end of mario titles, i just dont
want to see mario as its flagship title. out of all the games you've listed
there only zelda appeals to wider audiences.

despite the lack of titles the last two systems both had amazing games for them.
so why buy them and then let them gather dust?

I'd rather have options!
Quaility is an opinion.
My opinion is both the XBox and PS2 have a lot more quaility/great titles to
choose from over the GameCube. Ask yourself why it is that the Cube is
excluded from a lot of cross platform titles or they get them 6 months later
then the XBox and PS2.

Seriously, Nintendo is going down hill rapidly.
They are knocking on Sega's door of becoming a software only company.

EXACTLY!
Nintendo fail to realize that people that were in their teens and younger
playing the NES are now adults! Yet they still gear most of their software
towards the younger audience.

EXACTLY AGAIN!
Thx for being honest Jimmery.

I wouldn't mind MArio bneing their flagship game is they would evolve him
with the times.
He doesn't have to carry a shotgun and blow Bowsers brains out but ti would
be nice if they stopped making it so cutesy and fuzzy. Mario Sunshine with
the purple (undetailed, boring XXX creatures) jello molds bored me to tears.
The game itself was decent but I preferred R&C, Sly Cooper and even Odd
World over it.

I have been a long time Nintendo fan but I am tired of being an apologist
for them.
They need to do what it takes to get the majority of developer support and
stop being so critical of what they will allow on their systems. The whole
cart thing when everyone was already going CD with the N64 and now no online
or digital sound output with the GameCube, rubs me the wrong way. I am so
sick of hearing online isn't where it's at or PLII is just as good as DD or
DTS sound is ludicrous.

OPTIONS!
I really enjoyed MP.
I thought Mario SS was "ok" and Eternal Dark was KEWL!
I didn't really care for almost anything else the Cube has.

Apologies to the folks that believed this.. but this is a confirmed
fake. The original thread originated here:

http://forums.gaming-age.com/showthread.php?t=23786

then got picked up from various tabloidy media.

Famitsu said only that the game is 60% complete, and will come out for
PS2 in spring of 2005, and reported on a couple of original modes.

You should have known better than to report on a fake before
confirming its authenticity. To be fair though, teamxbox made the same
mistake.

hmm. i disagree - whether you like a game or not is an opinion. i dont like gran
turismo - but i cannot deny the fact that its a quality game.

ocarina of time, halo, metal gear solid were all quality games - obviously some
people will deny this but i think that has to do with their own personal stance
point rather than the games themselves...

simple - smaller user base.

the people who run nintendo are going down hill rapidly - but i still enjoy
their games just as much as i always have...

yeah... if they dont sort their act out and change their style with the
revolution i think you could very well be right here...

no prob - ive always been a huge nintendo fan - but even i am not blind to the
fact that their marketing is killing them... i love mario games - but mario just
doesnt sell like he used to - but despite this nintendo still rely on him to
save them in the console war... mario is good, but just doesnt have the cool
image that GTA3 or halo has - and whether i like it or not it is image that sells...

i thought mario sunshine was great. but the idea of mario style gameplay with a
shotgun is even better!! lol! i dont think nintendo neccessarily need to use
cheap violence and gore to mature their games - but even if they did im sure it
would still be a huge hit with everyone except that loud minority of mothers who
think their child is some kind of santuary of goodness...

the sound issue doesnt really bother me... but online gaming is something
nintendo needs to sort out quickly - im not a fan of online gaming, but to not
have any is to ignroe a huge and growing market of games... in nintendo's
position that would be suicide...

i respect nintendo's stance on their proprietry disc format, but you could argue
that half of the ps2's success was because games could be copied. i know why
nintendo dont want their games copied - but this is an attitude which is quickly
becoming old fashioned... let people copy your games - if they really are that
good people will still buy them, and what is more games may be copyable but
consoles are not - as console sales soar so people can play copied games more
developers will want to get their games on nintendo's console because of their
large user base...

The good old nintendo days are gone. It's ashame and
saddens me deeply.

They need to get into the online gaming, market to mature
audiences, and start really trying to compete with PS2 and
Xbox....

If I read correctly somewhere that the gameboy is the only
thing that kept nintendo in the market. I wonder how long
that can last for before that gets old.
