| The xbox should be fast enough to run windows xp.
Why does microsoft prevents people from installing windows xp/2000/me/98
into their xboxes?
If microsoft allows windows to be installed on xbox, more and more people
will buy windows and it will be a good gain for microsoft instead of people
installing linux on their xboxes.
Microsoft should look into this matter.
I hate people who make fun of microsoft!

Well I disagree, I doubt MS would see an even remotely significant
increase in sales. There simply isn't enough modded XBoxen out there to
make it worth it. Even if it could be done without modding, I doubt
many people would buy into it. A significant portion of XBox owners
already own a PC, furthermore normal text on TV is extremely tough to read.

It's probably safe to assume you have never even tried Linux. Ever
consider giving a live distro a shot. Basically you just download a CD
image, burn it, leave it in the CD drive and reboot. When your system
starts back up, it should boot off the CD (may need to set it to do that
in BIOS). From there it will create a virtual drive out of some of your
RAM and allow you to give Linux a test drive without installing anything
to your PC. When your done playing around, reboot & remove the CD.
Your PC will be just how you left it (nothing on your hard drive will be
touched and Windows will come up as if nothing ever happened). A great
distro for this purpose can be found at www.damnsmalllinux.org.

Well damnsmalllinux (dsl) is a knoppix based distro, www.knoppix-std.org
is also interesting, but after running a Sun V20z off of dsl business
card sized cd for a couple days (the guy who ordered the 20z didn't
realize it needed RHEL3, not Solaris 8), I have a lot of respect for it.
