Combination headphone / headset?
|
|

| I would like to wear headphones when playing Xbox Live games, but
since I'm already wearing the headset for Live, I can't also wear
headphones. Does anyone sell a combination headphone/headset, or is
there some other kind of trick I can use?
Basically, I need to have all audio go to the headphones (so that I
don't wake up anyone else), but I also need a microphone near my mouth
that I can talk into. Any ideas?

Easiest option: Set your XBL games for "voice through speakers" rather
than through the headset (not all games have this option), and then wear
the XBL headset around your neck so the mic is still close to your mouth.

| I don't think the other audio though will go to the headset will it -- like
ambient noise, music and whatever have you.

You misunderstand me. I'm saying, he wears headphones for all the
ambient noise, music, sound effects, etc. Anything that normally goes
through the TV's speakers. He sets the XBL game in question to play
voice through the TV's speakers, and thus through the headphones. He
then wears the XBL headset around his neck so he can use the mic to talk
to his teammates.

| but when his teamates or opposition want to talk to him, will it go through
his headphones or his headset?
juts curious

| Depends on the game, some will auto detect, others will have a setting for
it.
I find most games I have will output Live audio through the tv/amp when I
don't have the headset module plugged in (what can I say, I'm antisocial)
There are probably some with no choice though . . . . . .

Many games will put it through the speakers if the headset isn't plugged
in. There's also generally a game option to force it to put the voice
through the speakers.
