Author Xbox mod chip

I'm looking for a mod chip for my Xbox so I can play my "backups". I
know nothing about mod chips, or what to look for. I'm also wondering
if Xbox live is still usable after installing the chip.

Regards,

Jeff

Just use your favorite search engine. You're posting to a Microsoft
newsgroup about modifying an Xbox. Wrong move. 8-)

Why is that the wrong move? Please explain. Last I checked Google
had no affiliation with Microsoft anyways. But you're the expert.

What does google have to do with the newsgroup, other than provide access in
the same manner a plethora of other places do as well?

You have me interested in your logic here...

You're posting to microsoft.public.xbox. This is a Microsoft newsgroup, and
you're talking about illegally modifying your Xbox. See:

I think I know what I'm talking about so here goes, I think Jeffrey posted
his concern/question through google which then posted it in this newsgroup,
perhaps unaware it was going to be posted into a micro$oft newsgroup.

There's nothing illegal about modifying your own property. (Although
Microsoft would very much like you to believe the opposite.)

Only with the chip deactivated and also as long as you have not modified any
other components of your system.

Amazing that the various manufacturers of the components within an Xbox
don't sell upgrade chips or parts, huh? Must be a reason, since the box is
sealed. Check this:
