| I am hoping someone can provide me some direction. My Xbox was having read
problems with DVDs only. I tried a lens cleaner to no avail, so I bought a
new DVD drive and installed it. Everything seemed to be working fine until I
paused a game for the first time. After unpausing the game the system
crashed. I thought it was the game so I tried a few other titles. Same
results. I then tried with DVD movies and the same thing happens. I have
searched the web (far and wide) and cannot find any suggestions or theories.
I then thought it was lack of ventilation problem so I moved the unit and to
a new location and checked that the fan was running (I even decided to run
the fan off of the 12V connector...talk about noisy) and still it crashes.
Any ideas (short of suggesting I buy a new unit)? I can live with the
problem but it is not an ideal situation.
