hi Kriterian!
is your xbox live service a prepay kit?
if it so, check out where you bought it, and return it, i
had the same trouble when i get the mine one, the
solution was this:
ssw: hey my xbox live kit does not work
walmart: have you tried to fullfil all the fields?
ssw: of course what do you think am i? stupid?
walmart: does your credit card had money?
ssw: of course
walmart: do you want your money back or try another kit?

and then i tried another one, and everything is all right
now..
i hope i was helpful
BTW this happen in mexico, in mexicali to be more correct

I gave them a cool today. Apparently a lonnnnnggggg time ago when I had MSN
as an ISP, my credit card was declined on a monthly bill. They apparently
flag your credit card as bad, and it can't be undone! So I'll never be able
to use that credit card again for a Microsoft product. Boy is that some
brilliance on their part. It almost pisses me off enough to get rid of the
damn Xbox.

If you've got say a Visa Debit card use that. Then get on to your card
company and give them a sorting out.

I wish I could, that's currently the only card I do have at this time. My
only credit card is the one from my bank, a combination Visa/Debit/ATM. I
didn't want to get another one since I had trouble with multiple cards in
the past. Oh well, I guess I'll have to get one of those pre-paid ones
instead if I want to have an Xbox live account.

Request another card form the bank for the respected accounts. This should
be a new card with a different number (such as for a spouse, etc.). Then
call up xbox live and use this brand new card. The different number makes
them happy (even though it pulls from the same account), and it gives you a
backup card in case the first one gets damaged or a reader gets finicky.
Since both cards are actually for the same account it should not a problem
to manage. Additionally, Money, etc. will pull transactions from the bank
seamlessly whichever card was used.

Good Luck.

I ended up ordering a "gift card" Visa, basically one of those pre-paid
credit cards you can give as gifts. I wasn't sure if you could have two
different sets of numbers on your ATM/Debit card or not. Thanks for the
idea, I'll contact my bank. I was a big Mortal Kombat fan, in the arcades,
and I'm looking forward to replicating that with the Xbox edition with the
new MK.
