In order:

Yes, they exist, they involve re-wiring and splicing existing cables.

No, they are NOT supported in ANY game. The only reason to get a
keyboard/mouse would be for a linux install on the xbox.

Likewise, they don't work on live.

Depends on the chip and the DVD-Drive.

In a nutshell:
Want Live? Then don't..
-Chip your xbox

Want to play games with a keyboard/mouse?
-Too bad.

Play games from the HD?
-Chip your xbox
-and lose live

The average game maxes out a 5GB. Do the math ;)
