Why do I get a error message trying to play Burn Out 3 on LIve, something like
the above?

Due to EA's "wisdom" 60hz and 50hz games are incompatible with each other.

So if you're joining a game that's running at a different frequency it'll
probably throw up that error.

If you're using PAL you can change to 60Hz (if your TV supports it) on the
Dashboard (this will change it for all games). Personally I'd leave it on
50Hz if you are PAL as it will most likely guarantee more low-latency
players.
