Could be. Could possibly also be the laser in the DVD drive. Both common
xbox problems, and both can be easily repaired if ur handy with tools and
the inside of a computer. Also easily repaired by Microsoft if ur not! :-)
Hard drives, lasers, and indeed entire DVD assemblies are easily purchased
over the internet. As for further troubleshooting, Google for "xbox
troubleshooting guide" and begin to read. If ur DVD is bad, now is a good
time to upgrade to a better model, and a real good time to the drive cable
mod (improves load times) if nothing else.
The first thing I would do would be to start by cleaning the DVD lens before
I did anything else, though.
