XBox HDTV Question

| Hi,
I've got my XBox connected to an HDTV via component video; in the settings,
I've enabled all of the various HD modes.
Videogames look great; getting good crisp widescreen video... but DVD
playback is awful -- faint vertical bars across the screen, irregardless of
the DVD being played. (Other external DVD players don't exhibit this
quirk.)
Has anyone else seen this? Is this a flaw in the XBox, or is there a way to
correct it? (Short of using another DVD player, that is :-)
Thanks.

| The Xbox does not have progressive scan DVD playback. It is switching you
back to 480i. You can find out much more info on HDTV gaming over at
