Though you may be fully intending to purchase on 9th Nov, which I don't
doubt, you are encouraging people to post illegal copies of the software on
the net and will effect sales. Besides, what you are doing is illegal. Why
break the law because you are impatient and immature? I have to wait a whole
two days extra as I am in the UK. Have I dowloaded it? Nope. Will I wait -
you bet. Do I want to encourage pirates? Nope. I am a software developer and
understand the harm piracy can do.
The wait is part of the fun.
Do you open your Christmas presents days before or do you wait. The waiting,
the anticipation, the tease of the nearly there are all part of the fun.
What will you be doing on the 9th? Will you be sharing the joy of millions
or will you just shrug and say "So what..... been there doen that...". Share
the joy silly boy....

Excuse me, but just how am I encouraging peole to post illegal copies of
software on the 'net? Further, I've *already* purchased it. So what if I
end up getting it the way everyone else will in 5-10 yrs (by d/ling)?
Besides, what you are doing is illegal. Why

I'm not immature, but I am impatient. I have a right to be impatient. This
title was supposed to be out last year this time, then Spring. I've, in
effect, made a $50 loan to Ebgames.com and I want my return. ASAP.
I have to wait a whole

I have no time for your brand of digi-eroticism. Furthermore, my
Euro-centric sensibilities are insulted by the mere notion of your brand of
titilation.

I don't know what I'll be doing Nov 9. That's the beauty of my life. I bet
you know. I bet you know what you're going to be doing on Nov.9 for the
next ten years: sitting in your cubicle, whining about your 401k and hoping
to Vishnu your sorry XXX doesn't get outsourced to a 15 year old in
Bangalore making $6/hr. You're the type of person who has settled for an
undergrad in C.S., 9-5, mortgage, kids, two yappy dogs and a minivan. I'm
the person guys like you read about in books--making you wonder if you chose
the right path in life right before wifey screams to you that the baby threw
up on the carpet and the dog is licking it up. I'm big and I'm loud and I'm
the kind of person which my friends thank heavens I'm on their side.
Will you be sharing the joy of millions

I've got news for you, Wayne, Single-player Halo2 isn't finished, isn't
good, and there may or may *not* be the "joy of millions."

It's still illegal. And impatient and immature go hand in hand.

oooh. That's biting. Excuse me whilst I cry a while. I'll take you back to

errr... Wayne? k. Dunno what that's about. If it isn't finished and isn't
good why would there be any doubt about the joy of millions... Surely if it
isn't finished and isn't good then there will *certainly* be disappointment
for millions. You don't seem too sure there.

This entire conversation is hysterical. Perhaps you will read back on it
one day and figure out why.

Wayne, focus. I've said that there's a case to be made that this game will
be a disappointment, or a flop. I believe the extent of the things they
left out, combined with some idiocy they *left in* will contribute to this
one not being as big as or as good as most had believed. Look Wayne,
obviously I'm not as emotionally invested in this thing as you are, so
perhaps your judgement is a bit clouded--you know, since you haven't even
played it. I don't go around saying things are disappointing to be
"different." I don't believe I had inflated expectations, but I will tell
you this: I was at least expecting it to be as cool as what the "New
Mombassa" trailer showed.

Doc, that job offer with Hallmark is still on the table... Any of the
above meanderings would make a great card! For example (Numbers link to
phrases above, which would be the wording on said card):
1. A "So you are getting cable" greeting card.
2. A "No, dear, that dress does not look good on you" card
3. A "Planning a romantic trip abroad" card
4. A card that responds back to a Wedding invitation (This is my favorite)
5. A "Congrats on your new job" card.
6. A "Congrats on your retirement" card
7. A "Warning - Welcome to the neighborhood" card

Haven't played it, but the maps look great. ...it's why I'm wandering if
there's anybody in my neighborhood who wants to play it. The Central Fla
East coast is pretty quiet (socially). People work all day, then come home
and watch TV until they sleep, get up and work all day.
Just think of all the waves they're missing.

Sure - choose one:
Halo 2 the game (given the newgroup name this would be my choice, but to
each their own)
Halo - a (H)igh (A)ltitiude (L)ow (O)pening military parachuting technique,
typically used to minimize detection.
Halo, a circle of light appearing to us poor earth bound dwellers around a
heavenly body, typically resulting from refractions or reflections due to
ice particles in the atmosphere
Halo, as in an angel's heavenly glow
Halo, a region of space sparsely populated by luminous objects (which may or
may not contain dark matter, but that is another thread altogether)
Halo, a differentiated zone surrounding a central object (This is also used
in military references, BTW)
And, in a stretch, Halo, as in a nimbus about the head typically seen with
drawn figures of religous sources.
