the 2 of you having the problem should go to the setting blade at the right
of the dashboard, then go to network and test xboxlive connection, your
looking for the last item in the test 'NAT' it should be open for best
results, im thinking that you are going to get moderate when you test this
if you do then it really depend on your router whether you can fix this or
not, the only way i found of fixing it was to use DHCP for IP addressing and
Upnp for port forwarding (linksys wrt54gs router by the way) i tried all
sorts of port forwarding DMZ forwarding every port to the xbox still
nothing, well nothing more than moderate, yet as soon as i went DHCP
(dynamic IP address) everything worked great
good luck ... took me ages to sort it out on mine
