HELP! XBox-Live Newbie Question...

| I've had my XBox360 for a while now, just connected to XBox-Live. My
XBox off-line user-ID was already taken so I created a new online name.
That worked,but ---- All my game progress was attached to the new
on-line name I created. The name appears to be linked to my off-line
account game history, preserving all the game progress I've made, but
locking me out of the games. Now I can get online fine, but I can't play
the games from where I left off --- and I can't find the old name. Is
there any solution other than starting the games over from scratch?
Any clue at all would be appreciated ...

| Unfortunately, you'll need to start the games over. When you created the
new online account, that is the one which counts.

Well, that's what I was afraid of... I was hoping perhaps to somehow be
able to pickup where I left off. It's back to the drawing board then.
