Well hopefully you refuse to update your rosters because and NFL license is
just that. None of the sports games update their rosters the following
season anyway.

| There may be downloadble rosters that you can insert using gameshark or
whatever the heck that thing is called. Other than that, you could also
opt to sit down one afternoon and update your own rosters, aside from
creating the new rookies (which you COULD do as well).
Anyway, as described, Sega will not offer updates to the rosters
because they got no license.

someplace...

You know, I posited once long ago that Sega could continue to use their
own in-house data mining tools to produce updates that would not be
officially released. They could then claim complete deniability if such an
update were to make it out into the wild. Anything that keeps money out of
EA's hands is a win in my book.

yeah, I'm asking.)
I'd think you download the save from GameFAQs, drop it on the Gameshark
then plug the Gameshark into the Xbox and viola!

Maybe not. If Visual Concepts or Sega wanted to be mean about it, then
they might have coded game saves to work only when signed. That would
occur if the save were generated from the actual Xbox unit, or if it were
downloaded through live. I don't think that the Gameshark client on the PC
actually does any save re-signing, so it's not compatible with those types
of saves. Tecmo games are notorious for checking file signatures ten or
fifteen times before it allows their use.
Anybody know for sure? And while I'm on the subject, support developers
who allow their saves to be transferred between different Xboxes.
-KKC, who wonders if there's still a shortage of Xbox hardware in some
areas, because there's no shortage in Florida.

WTF, why would you need a gameshark. You would be CREATING the update man.
You just use the edit feature, THEN buy something like the replay max and
save the roster and upload it so that people can share what you have worked
on.
