Author xbox live 2 month free trial still good?

I'm going to be getting high-speed internet at my new house tomorrow so
I'll finally be able to get xbox live. I purchased Halo 2 when it came out
and never used the 2 month xbox live free trial card that came with it. I
was reading the small print off the card, in addition to checking
http://www.xbox.com/live/2monthfreetrial/ and both say the 2 month free
trial expires 3/31/05. Is there any chance I'll still be able to use my
FREE trial card after that date? It doesn't seem fair that MS would
package the card in with a number of current games and then put an
expiration date on it. IMO, what they ought to do is just include a first-
month-free-trial with any Xbox Live-enabled game to give new customers a
taste of it before they commit to the service for a longer period. Any
advice on this would be greatly appreciated. I'd rather not have to buy a
3-month or 12-month starter kit on the chance I might not have high-speed
internet after a couple months if I have to rearrange my spending budget.
