Could not connect to XBOX live?? HELP

Well i use a router and i know it works because we have used it before at a
different house, then i brought it to me house and i connected it and when
i log on. I goes to the troubleshooting place. Then the first three things
it checks are OK. But the last is not. I says, it cannot connect to xbox
live. Im so mad. I dont know what to do, please help me!

Is your Xbox given an IP address? Check your router log. What are the
three things OK? What is not OK?

| Also, do you have a modchip in your XBOX? You'll also get that message
if your box was banned from XBOX Live. I don't know of a way to verify
though, other than you making a direct connection to the modem to see
if you have the same trouble. Do you have a PC hooked to the router
too? If so, from the command prompt do an IPCONFIG/ALL and document
all the settings. Then go to your XBOX network settings and manually
set everything (changing only the IP address, maybe increase it by one)
See if that helps. I was having the same trouble last night cause I
switched routers, the only way it worked was to manually configure. It
was doing the exact same thing as you discribed.

| Try putting in static IP, Gateway and DNS information.
Also, some routers aren't compatible with XBOX live. Do some researc on
your particular router and see if there are any known issues
