Has anyone had a problem with the ADSL modem that Sprint provides/sells and
X-Box Live?

Here in Texas they provide the ZyXel Prestige 645 series and they do NOT
work with X-Box live. Can someone tell me what they are using (brand and
model number) because it seems that the only way we are going to get online
is to buy an different brand.

Well SBC gives you a CAYMAN 3520 with their DSL service and it works fine
with XBOX live.

Verizon uses the Westell modem (mine is the Wirespeed model) and it too
works fine with Xbox Live.

I've got the exact same problem. Sprint in Central Florida offers that
modem as well and I cannot get Live to work. I've been reading other posts
on modem/router settings and will try the suggestions tonight. I'll repost
if successful...

You are in luck. I work for an ISP that offers ADSL service. We used to
have the Zyxel Prestige 642ME modems and they have the same problem. For
the last 2 or 3 years, we have been using Zoom modems. They actually pretty
good. I have xbox live and haven't had any troubles. The modems we are
using right now are the X5 (model 5554). They feature a built in 4 port
switch, router and firewall. There is a new modem - the X6 that has
wireless. We had a beta wireless modem, but I am not sure if it is
production yet. Zoom also has some nice VOIP ADSL modems with free VOIP
service through Global Village.
Visit www.zoom.com for more info.

We buy the modems directly from the manufacturer, but I think you can get
them at best buy or similar stores as well.

Regards,
Jeremey
