Microsoft has been made aware of the shortcomings of OE as a newsclient
(and mailclient, for that matter) for many years now. However, bug fixes
don't seem to be a priority with them, as each new version adds more and
more features - and therefor, more and more bugs - without addressing
previous problems.
The same can be said for all their products. People don't need an OS that
can play another 15 different types of proprietary media formats. People
need an OS that's stable and doesn't allow every Tom, Dick or Harry from the
internet to erase the HDD just because the webpage said so.
Do you honestly think that most people use even 10% of the functionality
provided by MSWord or Excel?
