there are at least 130 people set to work on Halo 3, soon, if not already.

Microsoft and Bungie are roughly doubling their staff for the next
generation Halo 3 game, for the new Xbox.

06 March - In a recent interview with The Seattle-Post Intelligencer,
Microsoft Game Studios head man J. Allard revealed that Bungie Studios has
plans on doubling its development crew for Halo 3.

There were 65 people on staff that worked for the better part of two years
on Halo 2, but thanks to increased development spending and the
international success of the game, the third edition is looking to be worked
on by more than 130 people.

"Making a game is getting to be more and more like making a movie," said
Allard. "You need to hire more artists, more animators and more musicians."

This also essentially confirms that an actual Halo 3 in development as well,
so that's always good news to gamers.

Whether it launches on the PS3's launch date or not is still a rumor, but as
always, we'll have more on this as it gets announced.

And yet we have so many expensive rushed sequel movies out there that failed
to capture the spark of the original, killing off what could have been an
ongiong masterpiece.

Sometimes you have to step back and let the original artistic light shine
instead of the management deciding to truck in the industrial strength
floodlights... 9 women cannot make a baby in a month.

(I'll stop here before spouting something too akin to Mythical Man Month
ramblings).

I'd much rather they take some time away from working to keep their sanity.
It results in a much better product. They worked their butts off on Halo 2
and I am sure that they will do nothing less for future games.

Did you see the extra footage on the collectors edition disc? They had
3 years of dev time and spent 2 playing grab-XXX...
