I am using an Intellinet Cable Modem Router with built in 4 port switch.
(Barcode = 522281).
The router is connected to a Cable Modem (Comcast). I have 2 computers and
2 Microsoft XBox game consoles connected to the router. Each XBox has its
own unique XBox Live account. The computers work fine. But only the first
XBox that connects to XBox Live will work. The second Xbox won't connect;
saying "cannot connect to XBox Live." If I go to one of the PCs, and use
the browser to connect to the router, and go through the set up again,
choosing Cable Modem, the router reconfigures, and resets, then once again,
only the first XBox to connect to XBox live will work. It doesn't matter
which XBox you choose. Why is this?
Thanks.

In addition to each xbox needing their own unique live account, they both
need a unique 'public' IP address. To the Live servers both of your xbox
consoles appear to be coming from the same public ip because they are both
behind the router ,which is only getting the 1 ip assigned by Comcast.

If you absolutely HAVE to use both xbox's at the same time then call Comcast
and ask if you can get a 2nd ip (it will cost extra most likely) then
connect the modem to a extra switch/hub, and connect one cat5 from the
router you already have to the first xbox, and connect another cat5 from the
switch/hub direct to the 2nd xbox.

I am using a D-Link DI-614+ (wireless/wireline) router.

Used on both DSL and Cable Broadband with no extra access charges or
subsricptions, we have used 3 xboxes with 3 unique live accounts
simultaneously. It could be that your router has limitations, or your
broadband speed is insufficient. We have 3MB DSL, so each machine had a full
1MB each. Try using the xboxes with both computers (or at least one) turned
off. Think like this: if you only have 1MB, then you would be cutting it
down to 250kB per machine, this might not be enough for Live play.
