Hey all, I've got a question regarding using two xboxes on the same router.
I've been trying this with a friend and it works fine (We tried using a hub
and neither of us could connect to the internet. I assume it's because each
Xbox wants it's own IP and I only have one.)
Whenever we use the router and Xbox live we can't communicate with each
other through the headsets. We can hear everyone else and they can hear us,
but we can't hear each other. This is true for H2 and GR2, those are the
only games we played. I haven't tried system link through the hub to see if
that works.
I tried turning off my firewall, but my router won't let me. I have a
Microsoft MN-700 wireless router, w/ 5 ports. I don't use the wireless
aspect with either Xbox. I don't believe any of my cables are crossover, but
I didn't think that mattered because of the router. Does anyone else has
this problem, or see what I'm doing wrong? Any settings I should look for on
the router? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Alex

Though the Microsoft website says it is not neccesary, you may want to
try setting up port forwarding on UDP 88, UDP 3074, and TCP 3074.

The NAT may not have a problem talking to xbl, but the problem could be
in the network. I don't pretend to understand "connectionless"
networking, just a guess.

My girlfriend is really getting into playing World Campionship Poker
online and we may have to get a 2nd xbox soon.

I'm eager to hear if you can work it out, 'cause I fear I may encounter
the same issue.

Good luck!

I opened up those ports and the pregame lobby seemed to work fine, but there
was a pretty good echo, not sure if I caused it or not. I still don't think
the in-game comm. worked though. I'll keep adjusting the ports, I opened all
three in and out, maybe that's not the right thing to do.
