Xbox live cuts off

| I have a Barricade g wireless router but I still plug my xbox in with cables and every time I sign onto xbox live, (Halo 2 of coarse), after about 1 or 2 minutes of playing my xbox just starts to lag and in about 30 seconds it gets worse and worse until i
t just cuts off. The problem is that as soon as I get cut off I can join another game and it will work fine and then the whole thing repeats again. Anyone suggest anything?
