xbox on public internet

| If I setup my xbox directly to my DSL modem with no firewall what are the
dangers of having the xbox exposed to the public internet? Is there really
anything someone could do to an xbox via the internet? Can an xbox be
"hacked" from the internet? Is it subject viruses or worms, like PC's are?
Thanks for any definitive information.

| In looking at some other posts I have seen that it is possible to FTP to the
xbox. Would not an FTP session allow someone to upload a file to your xbox
that could cause problems????

An unmodified box won't even respond to a ping, it's got no FTP or any other
software like that built in to allow remote connections.
Obviously if someone was to go ahead and put in a mod chip to run 3rd party
software it could leave it wide open.
